If you’ve got a cool $510,000 lying about you could get yourself a Ferrari or Lamborghini, or you could be different a purchase this ultra rare Nissan GT-R Nismo Z-Tune for $510,000. Production was limited to 19 units and a brand-new car would set you back $120,000 back in 2003.
The Nismo Z-Tune came with a 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine with a few changes. A new intake plenum and stroked crankshaft were included. There were also IHI turbochargers, a stregthened block, forged pistons, a carbon-fibre driveshaft, a improved cooling system, as well as high-flow fuel injectors and a more powerful injection pump. All this added together meant the Z-Tune delivered nearly 500 hp and a torque figure of 540Nm.
Not only did Nissan go wild on the engine, the design team reduced as much weight as possible by using carbon panels on some parts of the car. This kept the weight at around 1,600kg, the same as the standard model.
The increased power meant that the Z-Tune could smash a quarter-mile in 10.06 seconds (the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo can do it in 10.80 seconds) and hit 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed was a blistering 327 km/h as well.
