Ken Block’s Former Subaru Impreza Rally Car Is Up For Sale

Garage Dreams enthusiasts, here’s an exciting piece of news for motorsport aficionados! A rare chance to acquire a significant motorsport artifact has emerged with the auction listing of Ken Block’s 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS.

For those unfamiliar, the late Ken Block was a legendary figure in the world of motorsports, renowned for his thrilling driving style and pioneering contributions to rally racing. His influence extended beyond racing, making a mark in car culture with his visually striking vehicles and high-adrenaline driving videos.

This particular Subaru Impreza, now available for bidding on Bring a Trailer, is more than just a car; it’s a symbol of Block’s illustrious career. Its fame isn’t only due to its association with Block but also because of its role in shaping the legacy of rally racing.

Transformed in 2006 to meet Open Class rally standards, Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino piloted this car in various X Games rally competitions. What sets this Subaru apart is its unmistakable Monster energy drink design and the iconic #43 – elements synonymous with Block’s globally recognized racing style.

The car’s engineering is just as impressive, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four engine, a robust five-speed dog-box manual transmission, and a host of other upgrades like a MoTeC M880 ECU, Ohlins shock absorbers, and Cusco suspension.

Despite a few signs of its rigorous rally life, like a cracked front spoiler and minor blemishes, the car retains its character and story. Adding to its allure, the Impreza comes with a build book signed by Gelsomino, and signatures from Block and Travis Pastrana on the dashboard.

At the time of this writing, the bid for this piece of rally history stands at $US60k with the auction continuing for about one more week. This is more than just a car auction; it’s a chance to own a chapter of motorsport legend.
